Inclusion is a pretty word, but I don’t buy into this idea that everyone has to be included in everything, because that’s not how life works and it never has. Growing up, I had to learn early that not every space was meant for me, and yes, that pissed me off sometimes, but it also taught me reality, boundaries, and self-awareness. My mom was clear: not everything is for you, and if you can do it, do it — if you can’t, you don’t. Fast-forward to adulthood, and I’m standing in a liquor store with my husband, buying grown-ass things I’ve earned the right to buy, and a woman asks if there’s a kids’ section, and all I …………………………
